-A little FRISBEE history-
FRISBEE was founded by Curator Anat Ebgi and Artist Jen DeNike in 2004 as
a curatorial art fair that took place during Miami Basel on the first floor
of the Cavalier Hotel. We invited artists, performers, and emerging galleries
to fill 14 rooms of the hotel. During Miami Basel 2005 we re-installed FRISBEE
at the Cavalier, no longer wanting to remain in the art fair realm, we changed
our concept to a curatorial project and invited solo artist projects, performance
artists, independent curatorial projects, and a few like-minded galleries. FRISBEE
was born in a spirit of collaboration with no budget, a few phone calls, and
some inspiration to create something raw and different.
